The Coronavirus outbreak is affecting all aspects of life in lots of different ways. Now, more than ever the local community needs to access our services and you can help us provide life saving information and support for those people experiencing a mental health problem.

We know many of you had fundraising plans that have been cancelled or postponed. So, we’ve put together some ideas for virtual fundraising that you can do from home. What’s more, it’s a great way to stay connected with friends and family too.

WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Virtual pub quiz

Everyone loves a quiz and this is a great way to get everyone together virtually. Host it on Skype, Facetime or Google Hangouts and ask people to make a donation to take part via a Just Giving page.

Sponsored steps or exercise bike ride

An indoor twist on a classic challenge; set yourself a target of 50,000 steps to walk or 30 miles to cycle in one day at home or in your garden while raising money.

Green fingered sweepstake

If you’re a keen gardener then why not set up a sunflower sweepstake so people can guess how tall it will grow, or a challenge to see who can grow the tallest? Or you could have a ‘fruit or veg off’ and see who has the greenest fingers!

Online gig

If you’re a musician or budding comedian then you could host a gig from home and invite people to pay to watch via a Just Giving page.

Virtual ‘crafternoon’

If you’re artistic or have a skill you can share with others why not host an online craft session with participation donations via a fundraising page

Online raffle or bonus ball

If you have a prize or experience at your disposal you could run a virtual raffle or bonus ball competition.

Online acts of kindness

Set you or your family a challenge for the month to complete virtual acts of kindness each day and collect sponsors.

Sort & sell

Have a sort out at home - clothing, books, CDs, DVDs and toys - and sell your items online before sending your donation via our website.

Get creative

There are so many other ways to get involved and help. You could shave your head live online. Host a virtual party or event. Organise a simultaneous yoga practice with some friends. Start a blog. Use Facebook Live, Zoom, Skype or other video technologies to connect with your friends and family to support your fundraising.
