Fundraise for us Fundraising stories Mind scores £500 donation from TTE Learners and staff from TTE have raised more than £500 for Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind after holding a charity 5-a-side tournament. Nineteen teams, including one made up entirely of staff from the training provider, took to the AstroTurf at Stockton’s Goals to take part in the tournament, with each player donating £2 for the privilege. The tough-tackling final saw teams made up of learners from groups 17BTEC Instrumentation A and 17BTEC Instrumentation B, battle it out to secure their title as TTE’s top side. The trophy was taken home by 17BTEC Instrumentation B, led by captain Dominic Clare, with the final whistle ending the game at 6 – 2. TTE’s learners overwhelmingly chose Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind as the nominated charity to benefit from the match. Steve Grant, Managing Director of The TTE Technical Training Group, said: “The football tournament was an excellent and competitive event bringing our learners and trainers together for a good cause. Having the chance to work and play together is an important part of their career and personal wellbeing and development. “I’m pleased that our learners took such an interest in helping to raise money for such a worthwhile local cause. I hope that the money we have raised will be of use to Mind as it continues to provide support and respect to people with mental health problems in Teesside.” Bethany Dean, Communications Officer at Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind, said: "It's great to see staff and students coming together to raise awareness that mental health is just as important as physical health".
